Sacraments

Baptism
  • Baptism is the "first sacrament" whereby a person is welcomed into the Christian community through water. It is the sacrament of regeneration by water in the word.

First Communion
  • Communion is a sacrament where the Body of Christ gathers together to share a sacred, sacrificial offering. Communion nourishes us on our journey of faith and allows participants to worship God together.
Confirmation
  • Confirmation is an initiation ceremony that strengthens believers on their journey of faith through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.
    • The Ordinary Minister in the Western Church is a bishop, but a priest may confirm in certain circumstances. A bishop will be consulted for Confirmation.
Anointing of the Sick
  • Anointing of the Sick spiritually strengthens recipients through prayer, oil, and the laying on of hands. It is intended to provide solice in times of illness, encourage recovery, or prepare one for death.
